CRYSTAL FALLS — Betty A. Rose, 83, of Crystal Falls,passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.
She was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Beauchamp) Possanza. Betty graduated from Iron River High School in 1957 and was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was employed at Central Music & Hobbies in Iron River and Coleman Products in Iron River for several years. Betty also was a waitress at Fob’s Restaurant in Crystal Falls for over 25 years. She was a real people person and loved her jobs, all the good friends and relationships she built over the years.
Betty married Stanley “Stash” Rose on Dec. 16, 1991 in Crystal Falls. She was an active member of the Faith Fellowship Bible Church and was involved with the Vacation Bible School. Betty was a volunteer with the after school program and at the Mission Bible Training Center in Gaastra.
She was very talented making crafts, basket weaving, crocheting and knitting, making many things for family and friends. She was also an excellent cook and loved to bake. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and always made family her number one priority. She will be sadly missed by all who know her.
Betty is survived by her husband, Stash; two sons, Jeffrey (Judy) Porier of Iron Mountain and Michael (Faye) Porier of Iron River; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Rachel) Porier, Christopher (Mindy) Porier, Jennifer (Scott) Cartwright, Anne (Joe) Donohue, Kristina Porier and Andrew Porier; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Susan and a grandson, Bobby Porier.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.
A memorial service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Pastor Cheryle Spicer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
