IRON RIVER — Edward Glen Gorman Jr., 65, of Iron River, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022.
He was born March 4, 1957, in Muskegon, Mich., with his twin sister, Glenna Wright, the son of the late Edward and Phyllis Gorman.
Ed grew up in Sagola and graduated from North Dickinson. Following graduation, Ed worked as a mechanic for over 20 years before going back to college to obtain his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in teaching.
He taught automotive mechanics all over the country in Virginia Beach, Va., Douglas, Ariz., and Dumas, Ark., before coming back to the U.P. and teaching at Gogebic Community College and retiring in 2020. Ed enjoyed spending time with the love of his life and wife of 41 years, spending time with family, and watching NASCAR and the Detroit Lions.
He is survived by his twin sister, Glenna Wright (Tim) of Iron River; beloved wife, Gayle Gorman of Iron River.; brother-in-law, Kenny Kasten and family of Channing; brother-in-law, Steve Smithson (Heather) and family of Fredericksburg, Va.; sons, Benjamin Kasten of Ironwood, Jason Gorman of Iron River, Edward (Angela) Gorman of Brainerd, Minn., and Christopher (Alexandria) Gorman of Ironwood; nephew, Greg (Andrea) Wright and family of Iron River; niece, Gina (Mike) Pokas and family of Iron River; and April Wright of Iron River; and grandchildren Braden, Caden, Gavin, Kaitlyn, Oliver, Phoebe, Stephanie, Aric, Eddie, Charlie, Rory, and Ethan; best friends, Grover Munn of Painesdale, Mich., Gary Moore of Big Rapids, Mich., and Mark Silverstine of Bisbee, Ariz.
Services will be announced at a later date.
