NORWAY — Joseph Francis Larson, 81, of Norway, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at his home in Norway.

He was born in Norway on Oct. 21, 1941, the son of the late Edward and Marie (Panis) Larson.

Joe served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.

He married Sharon DeYonghe on Aug. 9, 1969, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.

Joe worked as a truck driver for several years then started working for the City of Norway, retiring as supervisor of the street department in 1998. After his career with the city, he worked part-time for Morin Excavating for 15 years.

Joe loved going to camp and spending time with his family, he enjoyed collecting Model A’s and tractors.

He was a member of the Dickinson County Fair Board, U.P. Whitetails and the Hall-Dewinter Post145 American Legion in Norway.

Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; daughters, Cheryl (Bobby) Kordus of Oak Creek, Wis. and Suzanne (Matt) Ledvina of Luxemburg, Wis.; grandchildren, Kyanna DeBakker, Matthew Kordus, Mila and Matthew Ledvina; great-granddaughter, MaKenzie DeBakker; brother, Donnie (Mary Jane) Larson of Norway; sister, Roseann Frehse of Florence, Wis.; niece, Wendy Frehse; nephew, Ed (Teresa) Larson; many special friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Frehse.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at noon at the Ortman Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Danielson, pastor of Evangelical Covenant Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
