OSHKOSH, Wis. — Sharon Ann Bergstrom, 79, of Oshkosh, Wis., formerly of Iron Mountain, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.
Sharon was born in Iron Mountain, on May 25, 1943, to the late Richard and Margaret Wittock.
She graduated from IMHS in 1961 and completed the LPN program at Northern Michigan University.
During her clinical training, at the State Hospital in Newberry, she met and soon after married her best friend and the love of her life, Clem C. Bergstrom.
They enjoyed 57 years of marriage and raised their three daughters while living life to the fullest. Throughout their lives they demonstrated their love of God and love of people.
Sharon worked as an LPN for 35 years and retired from the VA hospital in Iron Mountain. She was a devoted wife and mother, and provided for her family selflessly.
She was an ambitious woman, and she also earned a license in real estate and fulfilled many pursuits. Together she and Clem put on many miles by motorcycle, trike, boat, plane and automobile.
They enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling across the USA and abroad. She enjoyed gardening, walking, club, cards, games, campfires and she shared all of it with friends and family.
After their retirement, Clem and Sharon established their winter residence in Mission, Texas, where they developed many close friendships. Together they enjoyed clog dance, pickle-ball, pot lucks, community activities and card games. Sharon was a compassionate and committed friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Rose (David) AuBuchon, Bridget Bergstrom, and Melissa (Mike) Tiedt; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Desmond, Abigail, Nikki, Eli, Michael, and Danae; five great-grandchildren, Treyton, Madison, Kaden, Anakin, and Atticus.
She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Jack) Beauchamp; brother, Kenn (Beth) Wittock; sister-in-law, Carol (John) Fossit, sister- in-law, Pam (Dick (deceased) Wittock; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard F. Wittock, Margaret Wittock; her husband, Clem Charles Bergstrom; a granddaughter, Amanda; her brother, Richard Wittock.
According to her wishes she was cremated. There will be a memorial service at Queen of Peace Church and a funeral in the late spring in Iron Mountain. She will be buried next to her late husband Clem Bergstrom on the family plot.
