Faye A. Veeser
Faye A. Veeser
KINGSFORD — Faye Veeser, 90, of Farmington Hills, Mich., and more recently Kingsford, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023. Despite leaving the U.P. after high school, it always remained home to her, and she returned for the final year of her life.
Faye was born on May 15, 1932, in Iron River, the daughter of Catherine and Walter Anderson. Before graduating from Iron River High School, she met her high school sweetheart, Jack Veeser, whom she married on June 20, 1953. Faye and Jack began their life together wherever the U.S. Air Force sent them.
By far their favorite station, which later became their special vacation spot, was Bermuda. After the service, they settled in the Detroit area. While Jack advanced his career at IBM, Faye made a comfortable and loving home for their family. It was truly a labor of love. Even with all her children and most of her grandchildren well into adulthood, she often said with affection, “a mother’s work is never done.”
Faye’s great gift was her capacity to love and support those around her. She was devoted to her family and friends, who loved and respected her in turn. Faye approached each phase of her long life with strength, courage, and grace. Soft spoken by nature, she had a quick wit and contagious laugh. She enjoyed reading, developed a love for golf later in life, cherished time with family, and savored the simplicity of bakery bread and fresh blueberries. The memory of her kindness, loyalty, strength and love will live on in our hearts.
She is survived by her five children, Kathy (Cam) Knight, Pat (Paul) Beauchamp, John (Elizabeth) Veeser, Tim Veeser (Jimena Loveluck), and Elizabeth Veeser-Sharer (Jeff Sharer); nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Pam) Anderson; two sisters, Lynn (Rick) Taetsch and Carol (Gene) Bissing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; her brother, Dalwin “Bud” Anderson; her sisters, Alice Quaintance and Sharon Palmer; and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A memorial mass will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford, Michigan, on Friday, March 10 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Msgr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Her interment at Rest Haven Cemetery will be planned after winter.
Condolences may be expressed to the family of Faye Veeser online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
