Helen M. Ollila

She was born on Oct. 31, 1923. in Bellefonte, Pa., daughter of Felix and Anna (Phillips) Nylund. Helen was a 1941 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She married Oliver Ollila March 9, 1946, and made their home in Crystal Falls. During World War II she worked at the Sylvania Defense Plant in Pennsylvania, and then in Crystal Falls at Pivatto’s IGA, Osterby’s store and Lada’s Red Owl as a store clerk.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Ollila of Crystal Falls; daughter-in-law, Teresa Flood; three grandchildren, Jason (Allie) Ollila, Seth (Candice) Ollila and Liza (Eric) Guikema; as well as four great-grandchildren, Elijah Ollila, Vivian Milam, Elliana Ollila and Elliot Guikema. Helen is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver Ollila; her son, Kenneth Ollila; two sisters, Kathryn Matis and Anna Louise Ollila; brother in law, Raymond Ollila; and her niece, Carol Snell.
