Joseph K. Thekan

Joe was born April 21, 1926, in Milwaukee and was married to Jean (Johnson) raising five children and sharing 73 wonderful years together.

Joe had a 25 year career with General Motors in the Chicago area but longed to return to the Upper Peninsula and opened the first of four McDonalds franchises in the mid-1970s.

Joe was a mentor to many, he exemplified leadership and generosity, and had a positive influence in the community.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jean; his extended family, including five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many friends near and far.

Joe is preceded in death by his Aunt Theresa (Fornetti) and Uncle Peter Aimone, his Uncle John Aimone, his parents, Joseph and Jane (Aimone) Thekan, and his son, Jeffery.

In accordance with Joe’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
