Richard Arduin

HERMANSVILLE — Richard James Arduin, 71, Hermansville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and dog: Bear, on Sunday April 2, 2023. Rick fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years.

He was born on May 5, 1951, in Norway, son of the late Eugene and Mildred (Minrick) Arduin Sr. On Feb. 12, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Marlene Bray, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding. Together they created a beautiful home and family.

Rick was a lifelong resident of Hermansville. He worked for many years operating and managing Brothers Manufacturing and helped form Superior Welding and Manufacturing in 2004, where he was very dedicated and passionate about his work. Rick loved having the opportunity to employ and help other people.

He also loved the outdoors, especially trapping and trout fishing. He enjoyed spending time at camp with his family and friends and was always willing to share his knowledge of hunting and trapping to anyone interested, especially the younger generation.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife; three children, Nick (Angie) Arduin, Stephanie Arduin and Tyler Bray; and a grandson, Oliver, whom he loved being the Incredible Hulk to.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene; and a sister, Millie Jean.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday April 13, at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Thursday at church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name and his family will decide on memorials.
