IRON MOUNTAIN -- Samuel Thomas "Sam" Trebilcock, 65, of Iron Mountain, was taken home by the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Appleton, Wis.
He was born June 23, 1957, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was the son of the late Lt. Colonel George R. Trebilcock and Charlotte (Marietti) Trebilcock.
Sam graduated from Iron Mountain high school in 1975. He married Lisa Kanyuh March 22, 1980.
His compassionate and empathetic character formed the grounds for his long, successful career in sales. He was most recently employed by Ryan Fayas with Miller Products. He loved his job and the people he worked with and was excited for the upcoming projects that were planned and wanted to get back to work to help Ryan.
He was an active member at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was known as the "candy man" passing out smarties and tootsie rolls for the children during and after Mass.
He was a Faithful Scribe of the 4th degree assembly of the Knights of Columbus, his faith was inspirational to everyone he encountered. He was one of the most kind, loving and caring men that have ever walked the earth. It's hard to picture a world without him in it, with his infectious laughter and his passion for telling jokes and orchestrating cunning pranks. He was indeed a beacon of joy, laughter and fun.
His knack for telling jokes was unparalleled, turning any gathering into a lively and cheerful event, with that infectiously, loud, laugh. His sense of humor was one of his defining traits, one that we will forever remember and cherish.
Along with being an amusing, entertaining husband and friend he was an incredible father to his two girls, his pride and joy, his light and his love. He was a master at pigtails, tooth pulling, Simon Says, outfit picking, cuddling and soccer coaching.
Above all, he was a humble servant to God who loved to pray the rosary and didn't want to miss a single person in need of prayers.
Sam is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Lisa; two daughters, Misty (Gerad) Lefebvre of Iron Mountain, and Samantha Trebilcock (Michael Cannell) of DePere, Wis.; his faithful buddy, Rusty; five siblings, Helen (David) Oradei of Palmer, Alaska, John (Karrie) Trebilcock of Beaver Dam, Wis, Mary (Kelly) Bloyer of Townsend, Ga., Jane Carlson of Iron Mountain and Roberta (Doug) Rigoni of Spread Eagle, Wis. Sam is also survived by numerous cousins as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Sam leaves behind countless, amazing friends, too many to name but none forgotten.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Erickson Rochon Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Janusz Romanek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Pallbearers will be Gerad LeFebvre, John Trebilcock, Bob Strang, Tom LaFave, Brian Brouillette, Mike Corcoran, Donny Miller and Dave Tadych. Honorary Pallbearers are Doug Rigoni, Bob Boyle, Ernie Ravnikar, Zach Celello, Gabe Celello and his dog, Rusty.
