Elijah S. Guerrero

KINGSFORD -- Elijah S. Guerrero, 20, of Kingsford, formerly of Pueblo, Colo., passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Elijah was born on March 8, 2003, in Pueblo, to Alfonso Guerrero Jr., and Julia (Dodge) Staton. He grew up in Pueblo and was a graduate of Pueblo South High School, Class of 2020.

He was a fantastic musician, mastering the guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and drums, and he played in a worship band for a number of years in Pueblo.

He enjoyed playing games, fishing and watching his favorite team the Denver Broncos in his free time. Having come to Kingsford and the Upper Peninsula on a vacation in 2016, he later moved here in July 2021 with his mother and stepfather.

Elijah loved his little sisters more than life itself; he was always there for them when they needed their big brother. Elijah and Hannah were like twins, he was her partner in crime, fishing partner, her best friend and her hero. Elijah and Zoey were best friends, he cared about her with everything in him, she was his world. Elijah loved taking care of his four girls.

His aunts, uncles and cousins were of great importance to him and he shared a close bond with each of them.

Elijah was known for making friends with whomever wherever he went, and so was a friend to many. He met his fiancee, Kimberley McCallister, in 2022, and privately proposed to her on June 7. They packed a lifetime of love into that one year.

He made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, his teachers, co-workers, family and friends. He touched so many hearts and was an absolute blessing to know.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Alfonso Guerrero Jr., and Andrea Vigil-Guerrero; mother and step-father, Julia Staton and Nick Campos; sisters, Hannah Guerrero, and Zoey Staton; paternal grandparents, Alfonso and Donna Guerrero; and many aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Connie Dodge.

A Celebration of Elijah's life will be held on Aug. 17, 2023, at Eagleridge Event Center, 805 Eagleridge Blvd., Ste. 170, Pueblo, CO 81008.
