IRON MOUNTAIN — Alex J. Rigodanzo, 60, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, at his home.
Alex was born Aug. 24, 1962, in Stambaugh, son of Ozzie and Nina (Gorman) Rigodanzo. He graduated from West Iron County High School in 1980, then attended Gogebic Community College. Alex spent most of his adult life in Iron Mountain, also living briefly in Mukilteo, Wash. and Little Chute, Wis.
He had many occupational interests, working as an electrician, DJ, and sound technician. His most recent job was in the front office at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Niagara, Wis.
Alex loved rock music and over the years managed sound for several bands. He also enjoyed motorsports events and attending rock concerts with a great group of friends.
Alex loved the North Woods and spending time at the family camp on the Net River, where he and his brother built a log cabin on the property. Among his favorite recreational activities were socializing with cabin neighbors, hunting, four-wheeling and snowmobiling.
Alex is survived by his mother, Nina; brother, Michael (Claire); sister, Terese Rigodanzo-Kasper; niece, Rachael Coppola (Victor); and nephews, Joseph (Yarden Maoz), Matthew (Christina Javier) and Thomas (Kwee) Rigodanzo.
Alex was preceded in death by his father, Ozzie Rigodanzo.
A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Pine Mountain Resort in the Sitzmark Room in Iron Mountain. Please RSVP to Mike and Claire Rigodanzo at 650-906-0204. Text messages are preferred.
