STEVEN F. WADKE

LAONA, Wis. — Steven F. Wadke, 33, of Laona, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at his home in Laona, from complications of diabetes.

He was born on July 20, 1990, in Iron Mountain, to David and Beverly (Becker) Wadke.

Steven grew up in Aurora, Wis., and spent most of his life in the area.

After he graduated from Iron Mountain High School, he went to work for LaFetta restaurant as a dishwasher. In 2015, he started working security for the Potawatomi Casino. Then in 2017, Steven began working surveillance for the gaming commission at the same casino. In 2019, he bought his home in Laona.

Steve had many hobbies, ranging from outdoor activities such as fishing, four-wheeling and swimming, to indoor activities like Dungeons and Dragons, and video games. He did not limit his gaming to one system and would play on all the major platforms. All of his hobbies were, of course, made more enjoyable when he was able to share them with his son and his family.

Steve will be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor and his fierce love and loyalty for his family and friends.

Steven is survived by his parents, David and Beverly Wadke; son, Nolan; Nolan’s mother, Josie Stefanski; Nolan’s half-sister, Eva Janka; sister, Caroline Wadke; and his faithful dog companion, Livvy.

Steven was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Wadke.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
