Charles “Precious Grandpa” Wilmer
IRON MOUNTAIN — Charles “Precious Grandpa” Wilmer, 88, of Iron Mountain, a longtime resident of Granite Bluff, went to Glory on Wednesday Sept. 6, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed. He joins his beloved wife Lyla Jean Wilmer, his oldest son, Daniel Wilmer, and his nephew, David Smielewski in Heaven. Charles was born July 20, 1935 in Beloit, Wis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Reverend Dave Wilton will officiate.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Channing Cemetery.
The family drew much comfort from 2 Corinthians 5:6 “…to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
