Dorothy Richards

She was born in Dunbar, Wis. on May 8, 1934, daughter of Leo and Dorothy (Thode) Grandeau. Dorothy graduated from Pembine High School.

On Sept. 17, 1956, Dorothy married Edward Richards. They were married for 56 years and worked together as owners of Richards’ Supper Club and Motel in Dunbar, for 45 years.

Dorothy is survived by children, Craig (Elizabeth) Richards of Delhi, N.Y. and Roberta (Steven) Kohtala of De Pere, Wis. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Gribble of Poynette, Wis; and two grandsons, Michael Richards of Colorado and Tyler (Katie) Kohtala of Green Bay, Wis.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and sisters: Elizabeth Olson and Rose Showen.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine with Father Janusz Romanek officiating. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass and the burial will follow at Memorial Garden’s Cemetery in Dunbar.

We are grateful for the compassionate care our mother and grandmother received from the staff at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.

In lieu of flowers donations will be made to the Dunbar Sportsman’s Club or Pembine Rescue Squad.
