NORWAY -- Justin Steven Harder, 23, of Norway, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at his home in Norway.
Justin was born on Oct. 14, 1999, in Iron Mountain, the son of Thomas Harder and Shannon Strauss.
He graduated from Norway High School with the Class of 2017.
He was a hard worker, starting at Ray's Feed Mill at a young age and continuing to work for Eldon Rochon in the construction field for years.
Justin was very talented; he could play any instrument that was handed to him.
He started playing the guitar at a very young age with his grandpa Bruce and his love of music escalated from there.
Justin was very active and loved hunting, fishing, traveling, boating and tubing, and anything outdoors, like teaching all the neighborhood children how to play football, baseball and soccer.
He always felt children should be outside playing rather than being inside on electronics.
Justin loved spending time with his family and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas (Claire Waara) Harder of Norway, and Shannon (Kevin Wunder) Strauss of Escanaba; brothers, Matthew (Shante Cork) Harder and his twin brother, Jordan Harder; sister, Kacie (Josh Laney) Harder; niece, Myah Zeugner; nephews, Gauge and Aspen Harder; grandparents, Bruce and Linda Strauss, Stephen Lounds and Derald and Sharon Harder; special friend, Joanna Ostermann; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pamela Clifford; great-grandparents, Roland and Lorraine Peripoli, and Jack and Peg Harder; and a cousin, Alex McDermott.
Family will greet friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.
A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Walter Reichle, pastor of First Global Methodist Church of Iron Mountain, officiating.
