Michael W. Kivi

He was born on Sept. 2, 1957, in Norway, the son of Aino E. and Beatrice C. (Bartle) Kivi. Mike was raised in the Foster City/Hardwood area and graduated from North Dickinson High School in 1975.

On July 2, 1983, Mike married the former Gloria Ann Sprout in Escanaba and together they shared 40 years of marriage.

He worked at Mead Paper for 24 years as a heavy equipment operator, and then as a truck driver for Rays Feed Mill until his retirement in 2016.

Mike loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a good man, always willing to help others, and will be deeply missed by many.

Listed among survivors include his wife, Gloria; children, Matthew (Amanda) Kivi of Foster City and Adam (BilliAnne) Kivi of Rock Spring, Wyo.; two grandchildren, Megan Kivi and Mason Kivi; brother, Robert “Roggie” Kivi; special cousin, Lou (Helen) Cazzola, who was like a brother to him; nephew, Erik Kivi; and niece, Sara (Frank) Wertz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Debra Kivi and Karen Parker.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no services will be held.
