Kyle Allyne Ziehm

IRON MOUNTAIN — Kyle Allyne Ziehm, 51, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023. He was born on Oct. 15, 1971, in Iron Mountain to Albino and Gaylyn Ziehm. He was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1989. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer, during Operation Desert Storm from 1989 to 1992. After his honorable discharge, he began working for Smith Castings in Kingsford and remained a valued employee until December 2022, when the business shut down due to a fire.

He then made the tough decision to temporarily move away from his beloved family to take a position at Tri-Cast Ltd. in Akron, Ohio. Being a good provider was of the utmost importance to Kyle.

On April 10, 1999, he married the love of his life, the former Amy Sparapani. April 2024 would have marked their 25 year wedding anniversary and 30 years together.

A devoted family man, Kyle leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Amy; his son, Daniel Ziehm; his daughters, Maggie (Nathaniel) Weiss, and Alyssa (Terry Mastin) Ziehm; his sons, Drew and Weston Ziehm; and his grandchildren, Emmalyn and Wyatt Mastin; his brothers, Richard (Anne) Ziehm and Darryl (Tim Shircel) Ziehm; his “sissy,” Carla Anderson; and his sister-in-law, Beth and her husband Mike LeSage, who was like a brother to him.

He also leaves behind his mother, Gaylyn Ziehm; his in-laws, Diane and Lee Hauswirth; many cherished nieces and nephews; special friends, Aaron Benge, Steve Petrick, Stewart and Mike LaRock; and his loyal dog, Snoopy.

Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Albino Ziehm; his sister, Kelly Loar; and his heavenly hunting buddy, his great-nephew, Elijah Philippi.

In keeping with Kyle’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
