Carolyn Kay Kyllonen

AURORA, Wis. — Carolyn Kay Kyllonen, 56, of Aurora, passed away peacefully following a long battle with MS on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at Aurora Baycare Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.

Carolyn was born on July 24, 1967, in Chicago, the daughter of Ed and the late Carole Nichols. Carolyn graduated from Florence High School in 1985 and then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in social work and development from the University of Green Bay in 1989.

Carolyn used her skills when she worked for Michigan Works and helped many people find employment.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her son, Ryan. She enjoyed cooking, watching comedies and watching Packer games with family and friends.

She will be remembered for her laughter and cooking large meals. Carolyn had a generous heart and had a willingness to help others in need.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Ryan Kyllonen of DePere, Wis.; her former husband, Tim Kyllonen of Hermansville; father, Ed Nichols of Summerfield, Fla.; brothers, Matt (Peggy) Nichols of Dansville, Mich., and Eddie (Angela) Nichols of Niagara, Wis.; nieces, Paige Nichols and Courtney Wenzel; nephew, Aidan Nichols; and her close friend, Roxanne Doda of Green Bay.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Carole Nichols.

The family will be planning a celebration of life for the summer of 2024.
