KINGSFORD — Sandra Mae “Sandy” Mutsch, 82, of Kingsford, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson Hospital.

She was born in Iron Mountain on May 28, 1941, daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Douglas) Dams. A 1959 graduate from Kingsford High School, Sandy attained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Bay de Noc Community College at the age of 53. She enjoyed working for ManorCare, from which she retired after 16 years, and the El Capitan Supper Club prior to her nursing degree. Sandy was a longtime and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also a member of the Red Hat Society. In her earlier years, Sandy enjoyed riding her bike, playing tennis, bowling, reading and going out to dinner with friends. She also loved traveling both domestically and abroad. Florida and the Caribbean Islands, or anywhere that she could spend time near the ocean, were her favorites. Sandy was happiest when spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, particularly for holidays and special events.

Sandy will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Denise (Raymond) Kuder, Dianne Martin, and Debra Grailer; four grandchildren, Charles Kuder, Daniel Kuder, Brianna (Jonathan) Lynch and Travis Grailer; three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Vanessa and Veronica Lynch; her first love, John Gasparach; her special friends, Lydia Harding and Jeanne Gardipee; and many cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her dear canine companion, Buffy.

Sandy stopped at the Rainbow Bridge and picked up Buffy on her way to Heaven.

“I had a good life and thanked God for that. I want everyone to remember the good things, not the bad and to know that I will be in Heaven with all of them.”

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
