Beverly Jane McDermott

Beverly was born July 7, 1944, in Detroit, daughter of the late Frank Foster and Margaret (Jaskolski) Foster.

Beverly worked as a CNA, caring for her own parents at Livingston County Care Center. She also worked as a supervisor for CVS Pharmacy. Beverly was a very hard worker, but her main focus was her family.

She married the love of her life, Terry “Mac” McDermott on June 5, 1965, and together they raised two daughters; he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2020.

A devoted wife and mother, her grandchildren and great-grandchild were her joy. If you asked her grandchildren, each one would swear that they were her favorite. She adored them.

Bev was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Church for many years. She was very faithful.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, reading books and an occasional trip to the casino, too.

She will be forever remembered for her strength and her selflessness.

She is survived by her daughters, Debora Wahoviak (Jerry Roberge) and Kelly Burgess (Evan Hewes); grandchildren, Cole, Luke and Molly Wahoviak, Jack Burgess (Autumn Ducommun), Samuel Burgess (Jayde Peterson); great-grandchild, Lincoln Mac Burgess; her beloved sister, Mikki Hopkins; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Along with her husband, Mac, she is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Foster; her brothers, Johnny and Fred; and sisters, Joan and MaryAnn.

Bev’s loved ones would like to extend a sincere thank you to Maryhill Manor for their compassionate care, along with Arms of Angels, especially Diane Saari.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford. Fr. Michael Woempner will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
