Eleanor Marie Barkle

Eleanor was born to the late Pasquale and Marion (Santini) Cerasoli on Nov. 10, 1930, in Iron Mountain. She married Lawrence Barkle in Iron Mountain, which is where the couple made their home.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Bingo, and she especially enjoyed being the group leader on the Senior Citizen Casino Bus trip every week! She was an expert at making all her Italian sweets and pasta. She thoroughly enjoyed her home and her routines and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain.

Eleanor will be missed by her two sons, Rob (Debbi) Barkle and Terry Barkle, both of Iron Mountain; grandchildren, Diana (Russ) Amundson of DePere, Wis., and April Barkle (Lawrence) of Grand Rapids, Mich.; great-grandchildren, Blake Amundson and Kate Amundson of DePere, and Connor Savola of Marquette; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; a daughter, Patricia; four brothers, Peter DeCarlo, Fausto Cerasoli, Dick Cerasoli and Rudolph “Lefty” Cerasoli; and three sisters, Mufaulda Lavigne, Theresa Nokes and Veronica “Ronnie” Nault.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sunny Days, especially her caregiver, Torrey Livermore, Dr. Jacobs and Jeanne Alleva.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave.

Fr. Mike Chenier will officiate the funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
