IRON MOUNTAIN — Kathleen M. Sacchetti, 84, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay, Wis.
She was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Sparapani) Deldin. Kathy was a graduate of Kingsford High School, Class of 1957. She married Joseph Sacchetti on July 5, 1958, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. They resided in Munising for a short period of time before moving back to Iron Mountain. Joe preceded her in death on April 18, 2003.
Kathy was an avid sports fan and could be found attending almost all of the Mountaineer and Flivver games over the years. She was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church and regularly attended the Adoration Chapel. She was also a member of the YMCA.
Kathy enjoyed flower gardening and the time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, John Sacchetti of Iron Mountain, and Anthony Sacchetti of Queen Creek, Ariz.; two daughters, Jodi (Jim) Blichmann of Hudsonville, Mich., and Mary Sacchetti of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Terrell, Justine (Matt) Anderson, Jeff (Serena) Blichmann, Anna (Brian) Brcka and Michael Sacchetti; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John Deldin of Iron Mountain; one sister, Delores Pearson of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Deldin of Dexter, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph, Kathleen was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Louis Deldin; one brother-in-law, Arthur Pearson; and three sisters-in-law, Trudy, Betty and Barb Deldin.
A Memorial Service at St. Mary & St. Joseph Church will be announced in the summer.
Burial will take place at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
