Paul Joseph Elliott

Paul was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Kingsford, son of the late Clifford and Jean (Luke) Elliott. He graduated from Kingsford High School, Class of 1956, and was an U.S. Air Force veteran. He served with the Strategic Air Command and was Maintenance Crew Chief on the RB-47 reconnaissance jet, traveling around the world.

Paul married Sharon Miller on April 14, 1962, at First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. He worked as a hydro plant operator in Chalk Hill at the White Rapids Dam for Wisconsin Electric for more than 30 years until his retirement. Paul attended and was an active participant in the Stephenson United Methodist Church and sat on the Stephenson School Board. A talented carpenter, he could fix just about anything. Paul enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon; a daughter, Laura (Todd) Wangerin of Iron Mountain; two sons, Steve (Traci) Elliott of New London, Wis., and Brian (Carey) Elliott of Iron Mountain; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Paul was preceded in death by a grandson, Race Elliott; three sisters, Dorothy “Bib” Fornetti, Delores “Babe” Behrens and Gina Elliott; and five brothers, Howard “Cork” Elliott, Willard “Buzz” Elliott, Clifford Elliott, John Elliott and Gerald “Jerry” Elliott.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
