NIAGARA, Wis. — Sylvia Mae Piche, 83, of Niagara, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, from health complications, at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Ariz. She was born on Dec. 31, 1939, in Sagola to the late Cloyd Milton and Annie (Presley) Sexton.
Sylvia married the late David Smart in 1958 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Iron Mountain. Together they had four children: Dennis, Corrina, Sharon, and Renee’.
Sylvia married Tom Piche in 1973 and together they shared 43 years of marriage until his passing in 2016.
Sylvia loved the outdoors. She loved ginseng hunting, bird hunting, gardening, canning, camping and going for rides in the woods. She loved spending time with her family most of all. Sylvia was also an accomplished artist and was skilled at many handcrafts. She was an excellent cook and did so professionally for many years.
Sylvia is survived by her two brothers, Earl (Bonnie) Sexton and Roy Sexton; her children, Dennis (Pam) Smart, Corrina Lukesh, Sharon (Dave) Antonissen, and Renee’ Weber (John Johnson); her grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Stephanie, Shawna, Julia, David, Sarah, Hannah, Casey, Logan and Colton; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lauren, Karl, Isaac, Riley, Talia, Dalayna, Connor, Andrew, Layla and Leon.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; many beloved siblings; her husband; son-in-law, Daniel Weber, son-in-law, Bob Lukesh; and a grandson, Cody DePas.
Sylvia’s greatest gift of all was to make us belly laugh until we cried. Her precious soul will be greatly missed.
At Sylvia’s request, there will not be a service.
