FLORENCE, Wis. — Whitney Leigh Gregg, 30, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, in Redmond, Ore., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Whitney was born March 18, 1993, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Shannon (Terry) Steber of Florence, and Robin Gregg of Aurora, Wis. She grew up in Florence and graduated from Florence High School, Class of 2011. Whitney attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Wallace State University in Alabama, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Imaging. While at Wallace State, Whitney was awarded the Alumni Excellence Award which was given to only one student per year. She interned in the Radiology Department at the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala. Whitney started out volunteering for the Peace Corps, and most recently she was employed as a traveling X-Ray Technologist for L.R.S. Traveling Company, which brought her all over the country where she made many wonderful friends who became family. While working, she earned her nutrition and fitness degree and enjoyed spending time at the gym working out.
Whitney was the family “ring leader” who kept everyone connected. She enjoyed: photography, extreme hiking and camping. She was passionate about her work and strived to do her very best. Her faith in God came first, and her family was her life.
Whitney is survived by her parents, Shannon (Terry) Steber of Florence, and her father, Robin Gregg of Aurora; her boyfriend, Jesse Sutter of Montana; seven brothers, Tommy (Tara) Menard II of Quinnesec, Dustin Gregg of Iron Mountain, Jordan Gregg of Iron Mountain, Riley Gregg of Iron Mountain, Randall Gregg of Florence, Richard Steber of Florence, and Corey Robinson of Florence; two sisters, Sidnie (Jake) Klimpel of California, and Hanna Zanon of De Pere, Wis.; maternal grandparents, Barbara Galvin and Lenny Lemanski of Florence; three nephews, Brantley, Grayson and Hudson; one niece, Harlow; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her much loved fur babies, Millie and Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Homer (Dorothy) Dye, Dick (Sue) Steber; a special uncle and aunt, Randall Dye and Patti Grant; as well as several other family members.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pastors Doug Johnson and Cathleen Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence.
A luncheon will follow at the Florence Community Center.
A memorial will be established in Whitney’s memory.
