Antonette R. Dennis

Antonette was born June 13, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Anton and Ada (Tomassoni) Rigoni. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1944 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Antonette married Henry Dennis in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1973.

Antonette worked in the sewing factory on the northside of Iron Mountain, making uniforms for the soldiers during WWII. She also worked as a cook for Pine Manor Nursing Home and Breitung Township Schools. She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church.

Antonette enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning and gardening. Family was her top priority, and she loved nothing more than time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Antonette is survived by two daughters, Jeanne (David) Lantagne of Niagara and Joan Oliver of Howard, Wis.; three grandchildren, Dennis Oliver (fiance, Melissa), Ryan Oliver and Jamie (Gabe) Lewis; seven great-grandchildren, Qywntin, Kelden, Bentley, Brianna (Hunter), Brayden, Ava and Liam; one great-great-grandson, Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Dennis; and three sisters, Katherine Hilborn, Laverne Lindholm and Charlotte Rose.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Kingsford Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
