Carol Brown Tokoly
IRON MOUNTAIN — Carol Ann (Wahlstrom) Brown Tokoly, 86, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson, due to MDS, with her loving family by her side.
Carol was born in Iron Mountain, on Oct. 14, 1937, to Leonard and Maureen (Davis) Wahlstrom. Shortly after graduating from Kingsford High School in 1955, Carol began working for Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1989 after 34 years of service.
On May 25, 1963, Carol married Ruston “Skippy” Brown; he preceded her in death in 1973. They had two precious sons who were her life, Lee and Jay, and she loved them unconditionally. She married Chet Tokoly in 1990.
Throughout her life Carol never lost her love for milking cows and driving tractor. In her words, “It was a sad day on March 24, 2019, when no trucking company would pick up the milk, so the cows had to go. We were the last farm shipping milk. How things change.”
Carol will be deeply missed by her husband, Chet Tokoly; two sons, Lee Ruston (Lanny) Brown and Jay Samuel (Darcy) Brown; two grandchildren, Cole Ruston and Julia Ann Brown of Homestead, Wis.; two sisters, Gloria (Sidney) Johnson of Marshfield, Wis., and Marlene Wahlstrom of Wausau, Wis.; two brothers, Larry (Mary Gail) Wahlstrom of Laconia, N.H., and Charles (Pat) Galvan of Homestead; sister-in-law, Dawn Wahlstrom of Aurora, Wis.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Wahlstrom.
At Carol’s request there will be no service and burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.
We would like to thank the staff at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson for their kind and compassionate care and a special thank you to Jill Charlier for taking extra special care of our Carol.
