HERMANSVILLE — Betty Lou Broeders, 92, of Hermansville, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2024.
Betty was born on March 17, 1932 in Spencer, Wis., the daughter of Lenard and Bertha (Knoll) Blaubach. Betty married the love of her life, Gerard Broeders, on Jan. 15, 1949. Together they shared 57 years of marriage. Betty loved to do things with and for her family and others. She raised her family of 11 children in Foster City, worked with her husband, who was a carpenter/lumberjack and was president of the Alter Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City. Betty often volunteered her time and did things for other people. She was a giver and a hard worker. She loved her flowers, crocheting, baking and helping others. Many have indicated how special she was as she cared so deeply for her family and others. In 2023 Betty was recognized for volunteering at Optalis Rehabilitation Facility in Kingsford, where she for three years crocheted gifts for over 100 staff members for Christmas and made raffle items to help fund activities for the other residents.
Betty loved her children so deeply and was always trying to do something for them and enjoyed time with her eleven children and grandchildren. Betty will be greatly missed by her eight surviving sons and two daughters, Lawrence (Sharon) Broeders and Jeff Broders of Citrus Spring, Fla., William (Coral) of Randville, Francis (Sue) of Fordville, Mich., James (Renee) of Sagola, Anna (Gerald) Dugree of Hermansville, Catherine (Bill) McCormick of Rosharon, Texas, Raymond (Stephanie) and Daniel Broeders of Norway, and Anthony (Nancy) of Quinnesec; along with 44 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. God said be fruitful and multiply and Betty and Gerard took God very serious. Betty is also survived by her brothers: Lenard Blaubach (Rose) Blaubach and Bobby (Sharon) Blaubach of Ashland, Wis., and her sister, Cathy (Bruce) Goff of Cable, Wis.
Betty believed in Christ as her savior and is now in peaceful rest in God’s Glory for eternity with her husband Gerard, son Jerry, her parents, her brother Victor, and many other family members and friends that she loved so dearly.
