NORWAY — Coral Gertrude Raboin, 100, of Norway, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation in Kingsford.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1923, in Vulcan, the daughter of the late Marvin and Gertrude (Mellon) Edict.
Coral graduated as class valedictorian from Norway High School in 1941.
After graduation, she moved to Chicago and worked for several years, before moving back to Norway and getting married.
Coral married John Raboin on Aug. 18, 1951, at Union Protestant Church in Niagara, Wis. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2002.
She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, watching all sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, and working around her house.
Last summer she enjoyed her 100-year birthday celebration with many family members present. Coral was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Paul (Norma) Raboin of Hamilton Lakes; daughter, Michelle (Dean) Guldswog of Kingsford; grandchildren, Kaina and Kambria Tavonatti, and Nick, Nathan and Steven Raboin; great-grandchildren, Max, Julia, Collin, Charlotte, Penelope, Torrin and Valia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Coral was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Edict.
Private family services will be held.
Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
