Gerald Destrampe

Jerry was born on April 9, 1967, in Hancock. He was a proud disabled veteran of the U.S. Army.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Tracie Lynn Destrampe; his mother, Ruth Schoen; father, Gerald Robert (Joyce) Destrampe; daughter, Cassandra; two grandchildren, Abbey and Aaron; sister, Kimberly, and brother, Richard; niece, Ava, and nephew, Eli.

He is further survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, including his special cousin and friend Jimmy Destrampe; mother-in-law, Linda, and sister-in-law, Kimmie Mitkowski.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Hauring, and Napoleon and Martha Destrampe.

Jerry graduated from Houghton High School in 1986. He excelled in basketball and track, holding many records, some that still stand even today.

Jerry retired to Largo where he enjoyed his time with the love of his life, Tracie and his extended family. Jerry had a big heart and always knew how to put a smile on your face.

In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a future date.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
