KINGSFORD — Janice “Jan” Lee Trumble, 82, of Kingsford, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Jan was born on May 16, 1941, in Chicago, to Leslie and Loretta (Sheldon) Nelson. She was a graduate of Kingsford High School. Jan married Randall Trumble on Aug. 17, 1974, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain. While Jan was a stay at home mom for the majority of her adult life, she later worked as a beautician, worked at Trico and Wal-Mart, and retired from Econo Foods. Jan enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

Jan is survived by her husband, Randall Trumble; daughters, Lisa (Daniel) Richards, Laura (Troy) Edwin, Sandra (Fred) Jump, Caroline (Andrew) Raymond and Allison (Mark) Altman; grandchildren, Drew Richards, Leslie (Colin) Orcutt, Kelly (Craig) Brock, Abby and Brent Edwin, Justin (Harmony) Wedin, Owen Wedin, Kasondra (Nick) Barker, Dean, Nathan and Addison Raymond, and Audrey, Ben, Sam and Max Altman; great-grandchildren, Mason, Benjamin, Harper, Lawrence, Ilah, Everett, Kinsley, Hudson, Faith, Layla, Jace, Liliyana, Madeline, Zlatan and Gabriella; and a sister, Ila Sandstrom. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Leslie and Loretta Nelson, Jan was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Ruth Trumble; a brother-in-law, Charles Sandstrom; husband, Larry Menghini; as well as other family members.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home: 901 Carpenter Ave. in Iron Mountain.

A memorial service to celebrate Jan’s life will follow at 3 p.m., with Deacon Mike Lebea officiating.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the Bellin Cancer Team, especially Dr. Kevin Mortara, Patti Marquardt and Karrie Abendroth, as well as the staff at OSF Hospice, especially nurses Carrie and Jen, social worker Jennifer, and Deacon Mike for all the care, compassion and support given to Jan and her family through this journey.
