Richard ‘Pitter’ Patterson Jr.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Richard W. “Pitter” Patterson Jr., 71, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 9, 1952, in Iron Mountain, to the late Richard and Jeannette (Tomassoni) Patterson.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975.

During his military career, he especially enjoyed the time he served in Germany.

Richard worked in several local business, but found particular joy in his side-job of bartending, where he was famous for his Bloody Marys.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Joanne) LeBeau of Vulcan; siblings, Marilyn Shaw, Mike Patterson and Patti (Jim) Menza; his aunt; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Patterson; sister, Ruth Phillips; sister-in-law, Geri Patterson; and brother-in-law, Brian Shaw.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Danielson officiating.

Burial will follow at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park, with Military Honors being awarded by American Legion Post 50.
