NIAGARA, Wis. — Theodore Joseph Zukowski, 81, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, while wintering in Port Orange, Fla.
He was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Iron Mountain, to the late Joseph and Helen Zukowski. Ted grew up in Niagara. He was passionate and civic-minded, a joyous personality with an infectious laugh, and a gifted storyteller. Ted loved tinkering and building things big and small, playing golf, and enjoying a sunset cruise with his family on Sand Lake. He had a thirst for knowledge and loved sharing historical wisdom with others.
Ted was an Air Force veteran, serving his country honorably in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen; his brothers, Jim, Pat and Dennis; his sister, Gloria; his oldest son, Jay (Kim); his daughter, Katie; his youngest son, Joey (Tres); and his three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by one sister, Jean.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara.
Rev. Fr. Felix Abano will officiate. Burial will take place in the Niagara Cemetery.
