William L. “Bill” Amundson

NIAGARA, Wis. — William L. “Bill” Amundson, 72, of Niagara, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

Bill was born on Dec 5, 1951, in LaCrosse, Wis., to the late Robert L. and Mary (Mitchell) Amundson.

He married Debbie Michaud on Sept. 23, 1971, in Kingsford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Debbie Amundson; children, William (Heather) Amundson Jr., Cyndi Jo Amundson; and Daniel (Amber) Amundson; brothers, Bob (Ellen) Amundson and Howard Amundson; sister, Linda (Don) Perron; grandchildren, Kayla, Nick, Gabby, Damian, Peyton, Jayden and Bo; and great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Jaxon, Lilly and Stefan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Opshal.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Military honors will be awarded by American Legion Post 50 at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Bill’s life, with Pastor Jim Danielson officiating.
