CARNEY — Dale James Gardipee, 72, of Carney, passed away Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay, Wis.
Dale was born on April 1, 1951 in Green Bay, the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Vervoren) Gardipee.
In his early years he enjoyed several trips to Bay Cliff Health Camp, where he participated in various camp activities/programming which was provided to persons with disabilities.
He graduated from Norway High School in 1970. After graduation Dale worked at TRICO Opportunities, Inc. in Kingsford, where he assembled smoke grenade boxes for a government contract. He performed this task with much pride.
After moving to Carney, he also worked for Goodwill Industries, completing various assembly jobs in their second-hand store.
Dale was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau and always looked forward to their weekly services.
Dale loved his family, his dog Sassy, and cheering for his Green Bay Packers. He also had a great sense of humor, which everyone who knew him truly appreciated.
In his later years he resided in adult foster care homes in Iron River and Carney. The family would like to thank Whispering Pines South in Carney, for the kind and compassionate care they gave to our brother Dale throughout the years.
Dale will be deeply missed by his siblings, Wayne (Wanda) Gardipee of Wausau, Wis., Gary (Maria) Gardipee of Foster City, Joe (Cheryl) Gardipee of Norway, Dave (Diane) Gardipee of Aurora, Wis., Steve (Terri) Gardipee of Colgate, Wis., Tom Gardipee of Las Vegas, Mary (Rich) Lackey of Lewes, Del., Kathy (Tony) Trovato Ocala, Fla., and Carol (Terry) Seger of Rock; several nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy; as well as his step-mother Caroline, who raised Dale from a very young age.
Private family services will be held for Dale.
Interment will be at the Norway Township Cemetery.
