NIAGARA, Wis. — Franklin J. Lanthier, 87, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay, Wis.
He was born Nov. 4, 1936, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Urban and Lucille (Verrette) Lanthier. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering, carpentry work, spending time with friends and family, playing cards, and socializing and cooking at his camp.
Survivors include three sons, Mark (Tammie) Lanthier of Niagara, Michael Lanthier of Quinnesec and Donald (Julie) Lanthier of Kingsford; three daughters, Marguerite Lanthier of Niagara, Carol (Dale) Warren of Kingsford and Nancy (Chuck) Pellegrini of Norway; one brother, Joe Lanthier of Port Washington, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Jon, Beth, Simone, Joe, Brian, Justin, Alex, Matt and Vanessa; five great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Lanthier; a sister and brother-in-law, Flora Mae (Don) Howley; sister-in-law, LaVaughn Lanthier; and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Jacobs Funeral Home — Niagara Chapel.
A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Felix Albano will officiate. Burial will take place in the Niagara Cemetery with military honors.
