Mary’s greatest love in her life was her family. She had five children, who gave her 10 grandchildren, who gave her 14 great-grandchildren. She was an avid baker and is well known throughout the community for her breads, bars, and other sweet treats.

Mary was the world’s best cheerleader at her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s athletic events. After retirement Mary volunteered for many years at North Dickinson County Schools and will be well remembered for reading to elementary students and demanding shoes be tied.

Mary’s home was a refuge from the world’s stresses, a place where family and friends would gather during holidays and events and were forbidden to ever leave hungry.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sagola Community Building on Sunday, March 10.
