IRON MOUNTAIN — Ronald James Tresedder, 92, of Iron Mountain passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in the comfort of his own home.
He was born on June 9, 1931, in Ishpeming to the late Alfred and Anna (Matthews) Tresedder. Ron attended Ishpeming High School. After school, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1954. On March 4, 1954, Ron was married to Rose Mary Leonardi in Norfolk, Va. Together they moved back to Deer Lake, in Ishpeming, where they raised their four children and Ron began his career with Cleveland-Cliffs. In 1974, he was transferred to Cliffs Western Division, which took him to Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado. Ronald and Rose settled in Rifle, Colo., after retiring from Cleveland-Cliffs, where he was a member of St. Mary Parish, the Knights of Columbus and the BPOE 2195 Elks Lodge.
They enjoyed their summers together at the family camp in Republic and moved back to Ishpeming in 2020 after Rose became ill. Rose preceded Ronald in death on Aug. 1, 2021, after 67 years of marriage, causing Ron to move to Iron Mountain for his remaining years.
Ronald will be missed by his children, Deborah (Bill) Kinnunen, Blane Tresedder, James (Yesenia) Tresedder, and Dana Tresedder; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Ross (Carol) Tresedder; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Patricia Tresedder; sister, Donna (George) Junak; and nephew, George Junak Jr.
According to Ronald’s wishes no services will be held.
