DANIEL R. SCHLAIS

KINGSFORD — Daniel R. Schlais, 73, of Kingsford, formerly Beecher, Wis., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson.

He was born in Norway on Sept. 8, 1950, son of the late Raymond and Arlene (Bartels) Schlais. Dan was a graduate of UW-Stout and taught electronics at Antioch Community High School. He also owned his own electrical business.

In his younger years, Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and has always enjoyed watching his Green Bay Packers.

Dan will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend with an array of talents. One thing he was most proud of was that he was able to single-handedly build a home for his family when he was only in his twenties. His warm heart and spirited nature will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dan is survived by his three children, Jamie Schlais-Barnes of The Hague, Netherlands, Julie Schlais of Madison, Wis., and Mary Witt of Kenosha, Wis.; his former spouse and dear friend, Jean Schlais of The Villages, Fla.; three grandchildren, Breanna Witt, Ashlynn and Phillip Barnes; one sister, Darlene Schlais; two nieces, and two nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Schlais.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine, Wis. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee, Wis., is assisting his family with arrangements.
