Donald Lombardini

He was born on June 19, 1933, in Loretto, the son of the late Fred “Butch” and Rose (Simonetti) Lombardini. Donald attended Loretto School and graduated from Vulcan High School in 1951.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Don attended Barber School in Milwaukee and was a barber for over 60 years, retiring in 2020.

He married Darlene Geldmeyer on June 6, 1959, in St. Stephens Church in Loretto.

Don was an outstanding baseball player for the Loretto Blackhawks with his brother, Eugene. He also enjoyed playing softball, golfing at Oak Crest and Bombers, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darlene; daughter, Cristal Lombardini of Chicago; son, Dean Lombardini of Porter, Ind.; grandchildren Lia, Lorann and Luke Lombardini; nieces Gina Lombardini and Lisa (Paul) Schultz; and nephew Tony (Angela) Lombardini.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Lombardini.

According to Donald’s wishes private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital.
