IRON MOUNTAIN — Linda Lou Buckland, 70, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Linda was born on January 26, 1954, in Escanaba, daughter of the late John Sr. and Joyce (Snowaert) Closs. She graduated from Gladstone High School in 1972, then went on to complete the LPN program at Bay College.

Linda was a natural caregiver and was an exceptional nurse. She had a way of connecting with people on a deeper level. Her patients loved and trusted her. She had a gentle demeanor and a beautiful smile that put people at ease. Linda worked for many years at the Florence Nursing Home and for area home health providers. She loved being a nurse and cherished the many friendships she made over the years.

On Dec. 6, 1975, she was married to Robert “Joe” Buckland at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Linda was a talented artist and created many beautiful drawings and paintings. She loved planting flowers and herbs in her garden. She was an avid reader and had a quick wit when working crossword puzzles. She never passed up an opportunity to shop and could always seek out treasures for the people she loved. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
