Lois Swanson

She was born June 27, 1929, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Gust and Christine (Andreasen) Johnson and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1947. She married Wallace Swanson on June 9, 1952; he died March 16, 2006.

Lois was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain, the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women’s Club, and a member for 50 years of Chapter AN of the PEO Sisterhood.

She leaves three sons, Craig (Diane) Swanson of Fayetteville, Ark., Gary (Catherine) Swanson of Lexington, Mass., and Mark (Anne) Swanson of Hobart, Wis.; six grandchildren, Amy Swanson (Jason Hanchar) of Chicago, Jon Swanson of Tulsa, Okla., Eric Swanson (Teresa Lopez) of Knoxville, Tenn., Melissa (Tim) Fetting of Wausau, Wis., Joshua (Sol) Swanson of Green Bay, Wis., and Matthew Swanson of Green Bay; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Asher, Graeme, Ethan, Brookson, Lucy, Ellie, Charlie, Nicholas and Zoe.

In addition to her husband, Wallace, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bruce (Faye) Johnson, Gust (Joanne) Johnson and Jim Johnson; and a sister, Genevieve (Otis) Vradenburg.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
