CRYSTAL FALLS — Lyle Dale Wiencek, 85, of Crystal Falls, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Florence Health Services. He was born on March 1, 1939, in Crystal Falls, to the late Joseph Bazel Wiencek Jr. and the late Eva Georgeanne Franz.
He was a graduate of Alpha High School. Lyle was a veteran who served in the US Army. He worked as a welder and snowplow driver for the Iron County Road Commision for about 25 years.
Lyle was involved in the Crystal Falls Knights of Columbus Council 3082. In his off time he also had a farm raising cattle and baling hay. He was a very hard worker, and if you needed help he would be there.
Lyle is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Studer; his daughter-in-law, Sally Wiencek; two brothers, Clifford Tiskie and Bernell Wiencek; his grandson, Zackary Studer; and granddaughter, Shyla McPherson.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Ed and Don Tiskie; and his sister, Barbara Tiskie.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
Fr. Daniel DaPaah will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Eastside Veterans Council will accord military rights at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
