Genie S. Sievers

She was born on July 11, 1944, in Minden, La., the daughter of the late Guy and Shirley (White) Sievers. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, La., and went on to attend Northeast Louisiana University.

She was employed as an office manager for the Department of Human Services before retiring. Genie was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert. She enjoyed collecting strawberries, reading, going to thrift stores and to the beach.

Genie is survived by her son, Drew (Neely) Binkley; daughters, Jenny (Todd) Hitt and Gay Lyn Binkley; grandchildren, Andy, Daniel, Cody, Tyler, Sarah, Nicky, Jessie, Mitch, Mikey, Brooke, Jared, Andrew, Ashley, Tiffany, Caleb, Victoria and Jennifer; numerous great-grandchildren; her niece, Andrea Cook; nephews, Llew and Marty Cook; and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Don Binkley; daughter, Delia Binkley; and sister, Gay Andrea Cook.
