Jerry S. Gryc

Jerry was born May 29, 1943, in St. Paul, Minn., son of the late Stanley and Mary (Gunther) Gryc. He was a 1961 graduate from Humboldt High School in Mendota Heights, Minn. and went on to study communications at Brown College.

Jerry married Bonnie Parker on July 2, 1977, in Marquette. He started his career in sales with Lakeshore, Inc. in Marquette in 1980 and transferred to Kingsford in 1985. Jerry spent over 20 years at Lakeshore and finished out his career in sales working at SoundNorth in Iron Mountain, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Shriners. Jerry loved music and played bass guitar in a band in his younger years. He was an avid reader and Green Bay Packers Fan. He enjoyed singing, dancing, listening to music and watching movies. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie; two daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Flaminio of Williamston, Mich. and Andrea Gryc (fiance, Keith Pecho) of Pulaski, Wis.; a sister, Judy Friesen of St. Paul; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Family Ties Adult Day Care of the Alzheimer’s Association.
