Rosemary ‘Rose’ Pesavento

ROSEMARY PESAVENTO

IRON MOUNTAIN — Rosemary L. “Rose” Pesavento (nee LaFave), 81, passed away to be with her Lord on Nov. 23, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1942, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Colonel Norman and Evelyn (Bryson) LaFave.

After graduating from Iron Mountain High School, she met her first love, Wayne Pesavento. They were married on Sept. 2, 1961, and moved to Milwaukee, where they raised their family. Rose was a loving, caring wife, mother, Nana, great-Nana, and friend to many. Oh, how we all enjoyed her Italian cooking.

She was employed at AC Supply, Inc. for 28 years as the administrative assistant, the Basilica of St. Josaphat, and retired from the Law Firm of Michael Best and Friedrich.

Rose loved to travel. She made several trips to Europe, Hawaii and Mexico, and her travel companions were Lisa, her sisters, Sue and Pam, and close friends. She spent her last 11 years escaping the harsh Wisconsin winters at a lovely condo in Oldsmar, Fla. She so enjoyed the beach, pool, trips to the casino, and her many friends.

Rosemary’s Catholic faith was very important to her throughout her life.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Carey) Catania and Alan (Renee) Pesavento; long-time loving companion, Dennis Brand; grandchildren, Brandon (Julie) Immonen, Jessica Immonen and Stephanie Pesavento; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Grayson, Abel and Rowan; sisters, Pamela (Richard) Burbey; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tom) Ritz and Ann (David) Pagel; and brother-in-law, Allen (Renee) Pesavento; her dear cousin and friend, Kelley (Tom) Crawford; lifelong friend, Joyce Payne; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends here and in Florida.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Norman A. LaFave and Evelyn (Bryson) LaFave; her husband, Wayne; her brother, Francis; her sister, Susan; and her son-in-law, Bob Immonen.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Michael Chenier will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.

Lord God, use us so that others see you in our daily lives; strengthen us to trust and follow you. To your glory and in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rosemary’s name to benefit the Carmelite Monastery of the Holy Cross in Iron Mountain.
