Barbara J. Anderson

PEMBINE, Wis. — Barbara J. Anderson, 98, of Pembine, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1925, in Keosauqua, Iowa, to the late James H. and Jessie Lee (Binkley) Brown. The family moved to the Pembine area in 1930.

Barbara married David D. Anderson on Sept. 15, 1945, in International Falls, Minn. They resided in Minnesota until 1953 when they moved to Pembine. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2012.

Barbara enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, studying wildflowers, walking with her sisters and walking club.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Judith (Gerald) Specht of Markesan, Wis.; sons, James (Kathryn) Anderson of Niagara, Wis. and Eric (Roslynn) Anderson of Pembine; daughter-in-law, Linda Anderson of Pembine; grandchildren, Rebekah (Jamie) Ehmer of Kewaskum, Wis., Laura Anderson of Pembine, Julia (A.J.) Schilling of Onalaska, Wis., Joshua (Amanda) Anderson of Oshkosh, Wis., Kyle (Shana) Anderson of Stokesdale, N.C., Kevin (Stephanie) Anderson of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Jamie (Donovan) Couey of Denmark, Wis.; great- and step-great-grandchildren: Zachary (Danica) and Matthew Ehmer, Lucy, Orianna, Evalett, and Malachi Schilling, Eleana, Emma, Sophie, and Spencer Anderson, Isabelle Novak, Aaden, Easton, and Colton Anderson, Carter and Lincoln Couey; brother, Carl (Sandy) Brown of Pembine; sisters, Ramona Barker, of O’Brien, FL, Lilly Larsen, of Florence, WI, LaVerne Larsen, of Kenosha, Wis., Elizabeth Salerno and Gail Poque, both of Mt. Pleasant, Wis.; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by sons, Lawrence, David and Daniel; baby granddaughter, Sarah; brothers, James Lee, Robert, Kenneth, and Raymond Brown; and sisters, Doris Patterson and Viola Walker.

Visitation will be on Wednesday June 19, at Roubal Funeral Home from 11a.m. until the time of her memorial service at noon. Burial will be in Pembine Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caregiving staff of Evergreen Meadows for their excellent and loving care given to Barbara.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting Barbara’s family with arrangements.
