CRYSTAL FALLS — Ernest E. Pintarelli, 96, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain.
Ernest was born on Nov. 22. 1927, in Crystal Falls, to the late Ernest Natale and Mary (Chesky) Pintarelli.
He married Roselie Ann Schohl on June 24, 1950, she preceded him in death on May 31, 2019.
Ernest served in the United States Army’s peacekeeping missions in Japan, where he received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan, until his honorable discharge in July of 1947.
He taught typing and business classes at Menominee High School, and was the owner of the Dairy Treat Drive-In in Menominee, for many years. Ernest belonged to many service centered clubs such as Kiwanis, American Legion, Lions Club, and Elks Club. He loved making jokes, enjoyed telling stories, and loved his grandkids, and great-grandkids, he always made them smile.
He enjoyed his morning coffee with his buddies in Menominee and Crystal Falls, where they talked politics and changing the world. He was loved by many and believed in making the world a better place by having honesty, unity, and integrity. He will be truly missed by everyone.
He is survived by his son, Ernest John (Donna) Pintarelli; daughters, Christine (Don) Pintarelli, and Roseann Pintarelli; sisters, Alice (Walt) Hagglund, Jane Stroud Pintarelli, and Ruth Maki; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Wassell, Rachel (Eric) Aytes, and Jeffrey Brunell; great-grandchildren, James, Sophia, Owen, and Connor; and numerous nieces; and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his loving wife of 68 years, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law, John (Mary) Pintarelli, and Robert Pintarelli; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Angeline (Gene) DeMuri, and Irene (Fred) Miller.
Graveside services will take place at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 27, at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crystal Falls, Mich., with Father Daniel Dapaah, officiating. Military honors will be presented by the East Side Veterans Council and the United States Army. Burial will follow the services at Evergreen Memorial Park.
