Jennifer LaPine

Jenny was born on Dec. 3, 1960, in Manitowoc, Wis., the daughter of Omer Brooks and the late Geraldine Gardiner.

During her school aged years, Jenny enjoyed showing horses and dance with her sister Sarah, cheerleading, and making many lifelong friends, as she was very well known for her kind, funny and cheerful personality.

Jenny was the prom queen, along with her high school sweetheart and prom king, Jimmy LaPine. They married on April 12, 1979, at Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.

Jimmy and Jenny spent most of their lives together in Loretto in the dream home Jimmy built for them. Jenny loved sharing her home with friends and family who regularly stopped by, always to be greeted by a smile on her face.

Larry, Jenny and Jimmy’s son, was her entire world. His athletic talent and adventures gave her much pride and happiness. Jenny was well known for her love of the Green Bay Packers, which is why she wasn’t sure how she ended up with a son who loves the Bears. Somehow, they managed to enjoy many football seasons together. Larry was their only child, but she often referred to her beloved German Shephard, Lucky dog, as his brother and their dear neighbor “Andy man.”

Jenny was well known for her career at either Danny’s Market or Ebeling’s where she forever brightened everyone’s day. She truly made an impact on those who knew her through her humor or caring conversations.

Jenny loved her family and would make a point to tell them how much she appreciated them and how “happy for you guys” she always was. Her two “Granny” kids, Kaleb and Aubree, brought her much joy and entertainment, trying to stay up to date with the latest sport or event. Jenny was very proud of her family and will be sincerely missed; an incredibly beautiful person inside and out.

Jenny is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jimmy LaPine; son Larry (Katie) LaPine; grandchildren, Kaleb and Aubree LaPine; father Omer Brooks; sister, Sarah (Jim) Crampton; mother-in-law, Beverely LaPine; brother-in-law, Tim LaPine; sister-in-law, Lisa (Doug) Kraemer and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Gardiner; brothers, Omer and Leon (Sally Sanders) Brooks; and father-in-law, James LaPine.

A celebration of life will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, at the Venue in Loretto.
