Richard E. Trecartin

Richard was born on June 23, 1937, in Norway, son of the late Richard M. and Marjorie (Eller) Trecartin. He attended Kingsford Schools, graduating with the class of 1956, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He married Mary A. Gasparach on April 7, 1956, at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. The couple shared 64 years of marriage before Mary’s passing in 2021. Richard was a mason by trade and worked through the local bricklayers union for many years. He also owned and operated Dick’s Sales & Service where he sold and serviced snowmobiles.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, trout fishing and spending time at camp.

He is survived by his children, Robert (Nanette) Trecartin of Quinnesec and Linda Holmes of Iron Mountain; a brother-in-law, John Gasparach; a sister-in-law, Judy (Dan) Schumacher; five grandchildren, Erica (Nick) Malachowski, Angela (Carl) Oslund, Richard Campioni, Mike Campioni and Craig (Sierra) Holmes; and five great-grandchildren, Kurtis St. Vincent, Emily (Tommy) Hulce, Isaac Malachowski, and Desmond and Zuri Brown.

Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Campioni; a grandson, Stephen Campioni, Jr.; and two sisters, Lois Schomer and Valerie Freeman.

Private family services will be held.
